Delphi launches MDEG pump repair program to boost service options for Euro 6 vehicles

News Article Press Release

Delphi, a brand of PHINIA Inc. (NYSE: PHIN), has announced the launch of a new authorised repair program for MDEG pumps - specifically, the DFP5 pump models used in Euro 6 F2R Common Rail systems. This move enables specialised workshops to disassemble, test, and rebuild DFP5 pumps, adding an additional service path to the existing offering of purchasing new and remanufactured units.

More than 400,000 vehicles on the road today run these systems. MDEG pumps operate at 2400 bar to deliver precise pressure management inside 5.1 and 7.7 litre engines. To support this level of complexity, Delphi is expanding workshop capabilities by introducing new repair components and has built a full repair ecosystem: parts, tools, training, and test capability.

To maintain performance and component integrity, only authorised repairers with the correct technical capability - including training, repair tooling (YDT820), and upgraded AVM2 benches - can access this program. The new AVM2 upgrade kit allows testing up to 3000 bar.

This program launch represents a strategic response to what the market needs now: sustainable, serviceable solutions for high-pressure systems still in active duty across Europe. The Euro 6 fleet has a long road ahead. Workshops need to be equipped to keep them moving both cleanly and efficiently.

Delphi continues to innovate to enable precision repair that protects performance, extends pump life, and reduces waste. The result is an efficient solution for customers and a responsible approach to resource use.

With the newly released DFP5 repair program, and the clear focus on providing sustainable solutions that support workshop profitability, Delphi reaffirms its position as an industry leader in heavy-duty diesel systems.
