Course Overview
In a competitive industry, official accreditation and recognition of a technician's competence is necessary to assure your customers that their vehicle is in safe hands. The light vehicle inspection accreditation demonstrates that you have a sound grounding in the most fundamental aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, and are committed to the high standards and code of conduct promoted by the IMI. The test will assess your practical skills and technical knowledge, and provide the opportunity to join the official IMI register of accredited light vehicle inspection technicians.

AudienceTechnicians working in the Light Vehicle sector of the industry looking to move in to MoT testing and do not have a Level 3 qualification.

PrerequisitesInspection Technician must be able to work unsupervised - ideally, they should be in full time employment with at least 3 years experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis.

This course includes:
- Emission systems. Electrical systems – basic.
- Vehicle structure.
- Braking system.
- Vehicle appraisal - inspection.
