Delphi Urges Technicians to ‘Clean The Tank’ with Video, PSA Campaign

Delphi, a brand of PHINIA Inc., has created a new video aimed at educating technicians about the importance of cleaning the gas tank when performing fuel module or fuel pump replacement service. The video, a part of Delphi’s ‘Clean The Tank’ campaign, discusses the variety of issues that may be caused by failing to properly clean a gas tank during service, including the failure of a brand-new fuel module.

“We created this video and overall PSA campaign because we heard from a number of technicians who were experiencing failures of brand new fuel modules and fuel pumps,” notes Aubry Baugh, Aftermarket Communications Manager for PHINIA Aftermarket. “We found that when fuel modules are replaced without properly cleaning the gas tank of the vehicle, the dirt and debris in the tanks will travel into the new part, damaging it and causing unnecessary downtime. We hope that this video will help alert technicians and avoid unhappy customers.”
