Resource Highlights
Any service on an EV vehicle isn’t complete without a general state of health check, and a core component of that is system charging. In this video, Phil takes you through how to perform a basic system charging check using diagnostics – identifying the key elements to look at. You’ll learn:
- How to navigate the live data
- What information to pull out and check
- How to bring it all together into a single report
What is a charging system check?
An EV vehicle’s charging system for its battery is an integral part of its infrastructure. Running a diagnostic check ensures its functionality, safety and compliance are within global standards.
What are the key data elements to review?
We want to add all the AC information the diagnostics tool records, as well as the side currents, charge port resistance, temperatures of both the live and the neutral, pulse-width modulation duty cycle, and finally status of communication.
How do I add the recorded data to the health report?
Once your diagnostic tool has received all the data you’ve chosen to review, simply tap the ‘snapshot’ button and this adds it to the health report, alongside anything else you’re reviewing as part of the state of health service.
